BioBreak is a private community of life science executives and investors representing leading biotech, pharmaceutical, and venture capital firms. Its membership includes C-suite leaders, scientific founders, and business development professionals, ranging from startups to global corporations. BioBreak hosts curated networking events in hubs such as Philadelphia, Boston, and San Diego, creating trusted opportunities for senior leaders to connect and collaborate.
The website communicates BioBreak’s mission, sponsor recognition, and membership information, while providing secure access to members-only features such as event registration and archives.
The BioBreak website was designed by Gill Fishman Design and I was responsible for the WordPress development. My role was to translate their design into a custom, maintainable site that could support both public-facing content and restricted member access.
I built a custom WordPress theme with Advanced Custom Fields to give BioBreak staff flexible, modular templates for presenting events, initiatives, and sponsor information. A central requirement was secure access control, which I implemented through LinkedIn-based Single Sign-On (SSO). This ensures that only verified executives and investors can register for events or view archived content in the members-only area.
By combining a clean design with thoughtful development, the site provides BioBreak with a professional, secure platform that makes it easy for staff to manage updates while preserving the exclusivity of the community.
